Product Information

Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Compound was developed using the latest German technology for OEM applications. It removes up to 2,000 grit sanding scratches on fresh paint and an impressive range of imperfections from cured paint finishes. Application is user-friendly with a dual-action orbital or rotary polisher. Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Compound is the first step in creating a head-turning shine!

This is a companion product to Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish designed to remove deeper (1,500 - 2,000 grit) swirls, scratches and defects in ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats. This is the same abrasive technology used at the OEM level by German and domestic auto makers. Use Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Compound on paint flaws that cannot be removed with Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish.

Blackfire SRC Compound is designed for machine application with either a dual action or rotary/circular machine polisher. Most 2000 grit and deeper swirls, scratches, spots and defects in ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats cannot be removed by hand. Blackfire SRC Compound provides the muscle needed to level imperfections in all types of paint.

For the best results, apply SRC Compound with a circular polisher set to 1000 RPM using a CCS Orange Light Cutting Pad. These German orange pads are used at the OEM level on ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats.

Blackfire SCR Compound is designed to remove imperfections from the paint with out dulling the surface or creating compounding haze. However aggressive polishing pads or soft paint can still result in a slight haze. After compounding, use Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish with a clean polishing pad to remove compounding haze and restore surface gloss.

Flawless paint starts with Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Compound.

Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Coat Compound works on all hard and conventional clear coats.
Blackfire SRC Compound should be applied with an orbital polisher (shown above) or a rotary polisher (below) for the best results.

Applying SRC Compound with an orbital machine polisher:

Work on areas of approximately 2 sq. ft. out of direct sunlight.
Apply using a Lake Country CCS Orange Foam Light Cutting Pad.
Mist pad once with Blackfire Advanced Pad Conditioner.
Apply an X line of polish on the pad.
Using the foam pad, spread polish over the surface with the machine off. (This coats both the pad and the surface with polish.)
Set the speed control between 5 and 6.
Place foam pad on the paint and turn the polisher on.
Work over the surface in an overlapping back and forth motion until polish starts to turn clear.
Buff off residue by hand using a microfiber towel.
